Hi, I’m Linda. And your watching…Jk, haha so cringe. But really though, just to sum up a little about me, Im a 17 year old black girl who wants to share her simple boring experiences to random people. And yeah, I don’t know what I’m doing…but either way I hope you enjoy my little stories. Keep in mind that my stories might seem exaggerated but it’s honestly how I saw it in the moment. Because I like to keep to myself the majority of the time, it always feels like the little things bring the most excitement in my life. But yeah that’s just a little about me, maybe someday I’ll get into detail….now time for the first story!…or maybe more like tale because I’m telling what happened.
Missing Check
Ok now let me tell you about the time I lost a check on the playground in elementary school. My mom will literally to this day never forget it. You know how it is when your in elementary school, running around telling all your parents business, losing everything you pick up for a second, being hard-headed. Well just like any other kid in my class, I wanted to go on the field trip that was coming up. And we had rarely any field trips so I really wanted to go. So I remember when I got home, I told my mom my about it and she was hesitant, but that’s because of another “tale” she can never forget. But yeah she was hesitant at first but since I was a good kid she was like yeah you can go. And I remember being so excited too. So when the day came, my mom got her little checkbook and everything, you know, back when checkbooks were still a thing, and she wrote out the money, signed the check and I think she put it I’m an envelope. Or maybe she didn’t, I don’t remember. But I specifically remember, the day before my mom was going to give me the check, she looked at me so intensely and said “Mani, do not lose this check. When you get in school just give the envelope to your teacher and that’s it, don’t play around with it or you gon be shit out a luck.” It’s funny cause I remember understanding what she said but I don’t know how I ended losing the check. The next day she literally told me the same thing in the morning time before I went to school and I was like “I know” or “ok” like I got it but as soon as I got to school, somehow the check ended up outside the envelope. I can’t even remember how or why. Obviously I went on the playground and lost it but it wasn’t until the end of the day when I realized it. My mom came to pick me and my sister up from the YMCA and the first thing she asked me was “did you give your teacher the check.” Man my heart dropped because I knew I messed up. I was sitting there trying to think about all the places I been, keep in mind my mom was looking at me like she wanted to snap but couldn’t. And I remember saying saying put of panic oooh I think I left it on the park even though I had no idea where it was. You know when you just say something so you don’t get in trouble or people won’t panic. So yeah the group leader had to let my mom through to the back of the school so she could help me look for a check on the playground. We eventually found it surprisingly but she was still mad. I was so happy anyway though because that ment I could go on the field trip but still to this day my mom won’t let it go. That’s my story though, never said I was good at telling them.
Thanks for reading, I know I’m not the greatest at telling stories but I like to try, stay tuned for my upcoming tales, they get better over time….Hopefully.
